The Doyle and Debbie Show
at The Long Center, direct from Nashville

June 4-7, July 9-12, July 16-19

7pm, 8pm, 5pm, 9pm, and 3pm

The Long Center
701 W. Riverside Drive at South First,
Austin, TX 78704

$29-$39

The Doyle and Debbie Show is sublime parody, simultaneously lampooning and idolizing country music's tradition of iconic duos and their subsequent battle of the sexes. Bruce Arntson and Jenny Littleton wield the vocals of vintage country stars and the acting chops of Broadway veterans, taking audiences on a freewheeling joyride through a wickedly funny script and slew of equally hilarious original songs. Over the past two years, Doyle and Debbie have developed a rabid cult following in Nashville, many of whom have seen the show over a dozen times everyone from theater-going professionals to college students who wouldn't be caught dead in a theater or a country bar.

PKWproductions "Music and a Movie" Series Makes a Spine-Chilling Return with
Psycho

July 5, 2009

8:00 pm

Alamo Drafthouse

PKWproductions will keep its audience on the edge of their seat as Lake Creek Alamo Drafthouse brings back its popular Music and a Movie series following an 8-month hiatus with a screening of Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic Psycho with live concerts by PKWproductions on Sunday, July 5 at 8 p.m.

As the first Music and a Movie in this calendar year, PKWproductions director P. Kellach Waddle will victimize his audience as his ensemble performs arrangements of works from famed movie score composer Bernard Hermann as well as Waddles original compositions inspired by the music of insane composers to coincide with the screening. Hermanns infamous screaming violins throb throughout the film creates a sense of suspense and dread the film has become known for. Waddle will present his own interpretation of Hermanns "black and white" music that will make even the most devout thriller film seekers hair rise.

Free heart screenings for student athletes, ages 14-18, on Saturday, August 29th, 2009 at Heart Hospital of Austin. Active students who engage in athletics, cheerleading, marching band, drill team, or other strenuous sports usually obtain physical examinations from their family doctor prior to participating in those activities, and many take the extra step of getting their heart screened.

This free event is made possible by the generous volunteer support of cardiologists from Austin Heart, Children’s Cardiology Associates of Austin, Heart & Vascular of Central Texas, as well as the complementary use of facilities at Heart Hospital of Austin.

At this free event, athletes and their parents can also learn about Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) from members of the Foundation-sponsored Medical Explorer Post. This is a free demonstration that could save someone’s life!

Parents are welcome and encouraged to accompany their children during the exam.
Students must have a signed parental waiver in order to receive the heart screening. That waiver will be available at the event, or can be found on the Foundation’s website:

www.championshipheartsfoundation.org

There is no charge for the screening, however, a (tax deductible) contribution of $15.00 is appreciated to help defray some of the costs and also to support the work of the Foundation.

HOST AN EXCHANGE STUDENT & make a difference in a young person's life!

2009-2010 school year

HOST PARENTS-with or without children-are needed to host international exchange students from Europe, Asia and South America for the upcoming school year. SHARE! host families provide a bed, meals, as well as friendship, understanding, and a genuine desire to share the American way of life with a youngster from overseas. All students speak English, are covered by medical insurance, and have spending money for their personal expenses.

The students will attend the high school closest to their host family's home. Families are able to review student applications and select the student they feel will best match their family. The SHARE! High School Exchange Program is sponsored by ERDT, a global educational nonprofit foundation.

Start making a difference in a young person's life and yours! Contact Yvette Coffman at SHARE! Southwest for more information at 800-941-3738 or www.sharesouthwest.org
